WriterDamon

I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia. In the last fourteen months I've composed a novel, ten short stories, a solid pitch for a non-fiction proposal (that as it turned out was already published by another writer) and many review and lifestyle pieces for both local and national publications such as Spinmag.com, Citysearch, Paste and False magazines. I am passionate about sustainability and have been certified as a green consultant with the Green Business League.

  • Start Thinking About Your Power

Georgia Power sent me a bill today outlining where there power comes from:

    -Coal 74% (yikes!)

    -Nuclear 19% (yikes!)

    -Natural Gas and Oil 6%

    -Hydroelectric 1%

I’m encouraging you to call today or sign up on line and ask for “Green Power.” Notice how wind, solar, biomass, didn’t even get to the 1% level in Georgia? Let’s change that.

    • Each block of Standard Green Energy adds $3.50 (plus tax) to your monthly electricity bill.
    • Georgia Power also offers Premium Green Energy that contains both biomass and a solar energy component at $5.00 (plus tax) per block added to your monthly electricity bill. At least 50 percent of the renewable energy will come from solar resources.
