Start Thinking About Your Power
Georgia Power sent me a bill today outlining where there power comes from:
-Coal 74% (yikes!)
-Nuclear 19% (yikes!)
-Natural Gas and Oil 6%
-Hydroelectric 1%
I’m encouraging you to call today or sign up on line and ask for “Green Power.” Notice how wind, solar, biomass, didn’t even get to the 1% level in Georgia? Let’s change that.
- Each block of Standard Green Energy adds $3.50 (plus tax) to your monthly electricity bill.
- Georgia Power also offers Premium Green Energy that contains both biomass and a solar energy component at $5.00 (plus tax) per block added to your monthly electricity bill. At least 50 percent of the renewable energy will come from solar resources.
